2018 Events – John Sanders – President
Jan. 27th – Snowbird Luncheon- Travelers Rest – Dade City – Nice get together of old friends escaping the cold weather in Illinois
Jan. 30- Saddle Room Restaurant– Six NIAC couples ventured out in the cold to enjoy a hot meal.
Mar. 7- Snowbird Luncheon – Tarpon Springs FL. – Rusty Bellies – 6 NIAC couples enjoyed a fish fest and friendly conversations.
April 6-8 – Amboy Spring Rally – Boy was it cold.
May 3 -6 – Thompson Causeway COE park – The park was flooded, so we moved the rally to the Palisades St. Pk- 14 couples attended.
June 1-3 – Lake Le Aqua St Pk. – Lots of activities to keep us busy.
July 12-15 – Rock Cut Rally – attendance unknown.
Aug. 17 -19 – Illinois Beach St. Pk. – Zion Illinois – 5 couples brought their trailers plus 3 new couples visited Saturday.
Sert. 14 – 16 – Road America Vintage Sports Car Rally – Whitesells and Kranners attended
Sept. 26 – 30 – Region 5 Rally – Springfield, Il. 16 Region couples – Five NIAC couples attended.
Oct. 19- 21 – Fall Amboy Rally -4H Fairgrounds It was cold again, 10 couples brought their trailers to enjoy some warm friendships and buildings indoors.

January-31, 11:30 – Snowbird Luncheon at Travelers Rest,- Host: Jim & Bobbie Matkovich -15 members, and former members attended . Four NIU couples attended a second luncheon at Tarpon Springs in March.
April 21-23, 4-H Rally-Amboy, IL – 9 couples attended.
May 12-14th- Camp Dearborn, Detroit, Five NIU couples caravaned to, and had an extended weekend, visiting Ford’s: Museum, Greenfield village, and Rouge River factory. Monte Barksdale joined them.
June 8-11, Illinois Beach St Park Zion, IL- 10 couples attended
July 22 -July 29, 60th International Rally Escanaba, Mi. Total attendance -638 member families. -12 NIU couples
July 28 – 30, Rock Cut St. Pk.(Alternate to the International) Rockford, IL- 1 couple.
August 11-13, Green Lake Conference Center, – Buddy rally, – unk. no. of couples attended.
September 13-17 -Region 5 Rally -“Fall is for Horses” Rally KY. – total attendees -60 – 5 NIAC Couples attended.
October 20- 23, Officer Election/Installation & Thanksgiving Rally, Amboy, IL 10 couples brought their Units. One couple drove in Sat.
Dec.6, 2016 – 3:00 PM—Christmas Dinner– Jameson’s Charhouse – 26 members attended. Weather, food, and conversations were good.

Dec.16th 2015- Christmas Dinner –Houlihan’s in Geneva, IL. – 29 NIU members attended. (Host- Rick Wendorf)
Jan. 26th—Luncheon at Travelers Rest, Dade City Florida – 15 members and alumni attended. 4 NIU couples had additional luncheon at Tarpon Springs in Feb.
Feb.6, 2016 -Starved Rock Luncheon and Eagle Viewing 4 NIU couples + Monte Barksdale, met for lunch. Warm winter & open water resulted in only 1 eagle fishing at the dam spillway.
March 10th -Dinner theater “Sister Act” White Pines Rest. – 4 couples, plus a guest, plus Monte attended.
April 15 – 17 – Lee County Fairgrounds – Amboy, IL – 10 NIU couples – Good weather.
May 12 – 2o – Tulip Festival, Holland MI.- 4 NIU couples attended
June 16 – 19 – Rock Cut State Park, IL. -10 NIU couples attended
June 28 – July 4–Intern. Rally – State Fairgrounds, Lewisburg, WV. – 5 NIU couples attended – Big rain and flash floods in the area caused 30 deaths. Fairgrounds where rally was held is on high ground. Most activities continued as usual. Rally attendees and WBCCI donated $40,000 to flood relief. IBT authorized redesign of WBCCI Logo saying “Wally Byam Airstream Club” (rather than “Caravan Club international” and added the words “Rallies and Caravans”, reflecting the dual nature of the club. Official Club name remains WBCCI.
July 14 to 17 -Lake- Le-Aqua-Na State Recreation Area – 10 NIU couples attended.
Aug. 11 to 14 – IL Illinois State Beach Park.- 2 NIU couples attended.
Sept. 12th -18th – Region 5 Rally -Madison, IN- Jefferson County fairgrounds – 8 NIU couples attended. Total attendance-47 units.
October 21 to 23 -Installation and Thanksgiving Rally- 4-H Fairgrounds,- Amboy, IL-10 couples brought trailers. 5 couples drove in Sat. -Members voted to change our local’s club name to “Northern Illinois Airstream Club”.

February 21 – RV Show – 5 couples did the show. 15 people ate at Cooper Hawk’s.

April 17 – 19 – Spring Rally – 4H Fairgrounds – 14 couples -Executive board raised unit dues to $10/yr., to cover “Constant Contact” costs.
May 14 -17 – All ILL. Rally, Lithia Springs near Shelbyville, IL. – Attendance -16 Airstreams (7 NIU).
June 12 – 14- Rock Cut St. Park: Buddy Rally- 8 NIU couples
June 26-July 4 International Rally -Farmington, NM – 3 NIU couples attended -Total attendance -425 (13 couples in motels) Dixons put on 3,000 miles to attend.
July 17 – 19 – Starved Rock St. Pk. Utica, IL – 9 NIU couples
August 14-16 – Thomson Causeway COE – Thompson, IL – 10 couples
Sept. 9- 13 – Region 5 Rally – Goshen/Elkhart Lake, IN -4H Fairgrounds. – 5 NIU couples. Total attendance 44 rigs.
