Northern Illinois Airstream Club

Due to Corvid-19 pandemic, and our more susceptible average older demographic, our NIAC spring rallies have been cancelled by our president, Peter Schwarzs.

Northern Illinois had at least 2 couples attending.

We had twelve couples attend the rally. Eight were newcomers, who have been with Northern for 2 years or less, and four couples were old timers.. We had good weather for Friday and Saturday, but got some rain Sunday morning. Some of the members stayed on till Tuesday, as they enjoy the park and are retired. They do not have to go back to work on Monday. Lucky them. We “Happy Houred”a top of Schwarz’s Skydeck and used the club grill to make three of our meals.

Weather was good. Mexican theme was well done. Quite a few new people came, as well as a few old timer couples. Everyone enjoyed themselves. They visited many activities available. in the area.

We had nine trailers and 17 members with lots of new people in attendance.. A few of us retirees stayed over Sunday night. We had a bit of occasional rain, but we worked around it. The sound of rain on the Airstream roof was nice Friday night. The club grill made communal cooking easy.

NIAC snowbirds met at Ruth hall in Travelers Rest for a potluck lunch  – Hosts were Jim & Roberta Matkovich. Six members held a second luncheon at Rusty Bellies, at Tarpon Springs, April 3rd.
